My name is Anna Sims and I am a sophomore at Union University in Jackson, TN. I started playing club volleyball with Team Sting when I was a Junior in high school. Never playing club ball before, I didn't know what to expect or even know really what club ball was all about. Within the first few weeks of practicing and playing with Sting, my entire outlook on the game of volleyball was changed. I didn't only just play volleyball, it became something I absolutely loved doing. I loved going to practice and loved knowing I was going to be pushed to be the best player I could be. I was coached both years by Julie Dailey who not only made me the player I am today, but loved me and encouraged me the whole way through. One of the things that impressed me so much with Team Sting was the Christian atmosphere and just the way the coaches were there to not only teach the players, but also love and encourage them. I wouldn't trade anything for the bonds I made with other girls in the club and the friendships I still hold with many of them today. Before playing with Team Sting, I wasn't planning on playing collegiate volleyball. But with the skills I learned while playing with them and the encouragement and belief that I could do it by my coaches, I decided to try it and am so glad I did. I couldn't imagine not having volleyball in my life right now and am so blessed that I was able to broaden my volleyball experience with Team Sting. My only regret is that I only played two years, and if I could go back I would play with Sting from the start!
